Ajay Vasisht was one of the original initiators of the India MSME Forum which now has become the global leader of the MSME sector with 98,000 paid members. Ajay is an entrepreneur who started his journey as a merchant trader dealing in haute couture. He eventually pivoted to develop New Zealand’s film and creative exports to India working with prominent New Zealand filmmakers. He organised New Zealand’s first film delegation to India, which included the Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers premiere in Mumbai — an event supported by NZTE and the NZ High Commission. Ajay used his entrepreneurial and film-making skills to present a television series called Small Giants for NDTV India that featured success stories of small and medium Indian enterprises. Ajay serves on the advisory boards of the Papakura Business Association and Papakura Community Network, contributing to regional business revitalisation and strategic development initiatives.

In his other avatar he is a seasoned broadcaster and media professional, who has hosted radio for over 26 years; has acted in major New Zealand TV shows like Shortland Street, Xena: Warrior Princess, The Brokenwood Mysteries, and the international feature 6 Days (starring Jamie Bell and Mark Strong). He is an active member of New Zealand’s film and television community and has produced screen and community-based projects.
